Downloading Xubuntu

Why Xubuntu

Xubuntu uses the same base operating system as Ubuntu, but with the XFCE desktop environment instead of the Unity desktop environment. It is a more lightweight operating system that will run better on older computers, or make fast computers even faster.

Where to get it?

To get Xubuntu go to the Xubuntu Download Page and click either the 64-bit image or the 32-bit image. Your download will begin and when it is finished you can install it just like Ubuntu, albeit with a slightly different install process.

Which Download Do I Choose?

You can download either the 64-bit flavor or the 32-bit flavor. If your computer is from 2008 or later, or has 4GB RAM or more, I recommend the 64-bit version. If you have an older computer or are just unsure, select the 32-bit version. The 32-bit version will also work on a 64-bit computer, but not the other way around
